Record Store Day 2021 UK Releases Announced

April 8, 2021 by Jamie Parmenter

Record Store Day 2021

Record Store Day 2021 has confirmed the official vinyl releases for its two RSD Drop days and it’s set to be another fantastic event.

Record fans rejoice! Record Store Day has published its list of releases for 2021 featuring over 500 exclusive records.

Participating record stores throughout the UK will be stocking the limited edition releases which many a vinyl fan will be trying to get their hands on. As usual, you’ll have to check with your local record store in advance to see what records they’ve ordered for the event to avoid any disappointment.

This year, the format has changed once again with two RSD Drop days and all the vinyl releases split between them. Drop 1 will be happening on 12th June and Drop 2 will be on the 17th July 2021.

With the UK in the midst of loosening lockdown, it’s yet to be seen if record stores will be focussing on customers coming directly to their stores to purchase records on the two days, if there will be an online way to purchase once again, or whether it will be a mix of the two, depending on the record store and rules at the time of the events.

The full, 538 record-strong list is available to view or download at the official Record Store Day website, with a few highlights including a special edition of Black Sabbath’s Master of Reality, a 4LP boxset of Charlie Parker’s Bird in LA, and a 2LP coloured vinyl set of The Rolling Stones’ Hot Rocks. Doctor Who also makes a continuing RSD appearance with another BBC story disc, this time titled Dalek Terror. The lists are split into Drop 1 and Drop 2 so you know on which day the records you are after will be available.

As usual, hundreds of artists and record labels have come together to celebrate everything vinyl and make RSD 2021 extra special as the UK moves forward with less strict pandemic rules.
