New Music Fridays – 2nd July 2021

July 2, 2021 by Jamie Parmenter

Send Medicine

We enter the second half of the year! It’s been a tumultuous 6 months for the entire world, so why not sit back and relax with some great music we’ve found this week? From retro-soul to indie-pop to psychedelic rock, there’s something for everyone to get their teeth into. As always, click the pics for a listen.

Send Medicine – Alligator Lady

Send Medicine - Alligator Lady

Genre-blending rock n roll/psyche rock 5-piece Send Medicine really know how to delve into your subconscious. New track Alligator Lady is taken from upcoming full-length By Telepathy & Reputation, showcasing their wonderful way with catchy riffs, settled flows, and hints of 60s psychedelia that build against strong guitar work. The track wanders along at its own pace, content to take in all the scenery before hitting harder with big guitars and a release of energy. A great listen.

Hushtones – Sinking

Hushtones - Sinking

With fantastic male/female harmonies and a warm and inviting sound throughout, Liverpool’s Hushtones show us what they’re all about with track Sinking. Its catchy, synthy, indie atmosphere is backed up by a rolling drumbeat, fuzzy guitars, and a penchant for dreamy pop sections that are a joy to listen to. With a chorus that will be stuck in your head for days, this is a band we’ll be looking out for more from in the future.

Numa Edema – Oslo

Numa Edema - Oslo

The first single from his upcoming album, Nude Edema’s Oslo is a soulful and graceful track that shows off his mesmerising vocals, gorgeous tones, and flowing sounds that are impossible not to like. Recorded in one room with a full band and string section, the sound is warm and inviting with hints of Motown that serve as a jumping-off point to its retro-soul beauty. A well-crafted track.

Nadia Kamrath – Fever Dream

Nadia Kamrath

With a soft and vulnerable indie-pop sound, Nadia Kamrath’s Fever Dream gently caresses the soul against settled piano melodies, pristine vocals, and a warm and inviting sound. With a love of telling stories around interpretations of love, Fever Dream is the perfect introduction to a talent that is able to find something special in simple structures and bring them to life in a wonderful way.
