Vinyl Obsession Week from eBay is up and running

September 30, 2020 by Jamie Parmenter

Top 10 Vinyl Records of the Decade

eBay’s third annual Vinyl Obsession Week is up and running with a myriad of offers, auctions and events to quench your vinyl thirst.

Vinyl fans must be in dreamland. The second RSD Drops event was just last week and we are now in the midst of another vinyl event, namely eBay’s Vinyl Obsession Week. In conjunction with Record Store Day themselves as well as over 40 independent record stores throughout the US, the entire week aims to offer vinyl lovers discounts and special offers from local record stores in order to help out those who were unable to make either of the two previous RSD Drops events. This also helps support local record stores that have been hit hard by the current pandemic.

The online auction site is also sticking to what it knows best and auctioning off a series of rare and collectible records, prints, and more, helping to raise money for charity MusiCares in the process. Rarities up for grabs during the auction events include a John Legend signed Darkness and Light LP,  a Willie Nelson signed vintage Stardust record, and a signed acoustic guitar from rock star (ahem) Kevin Bacon…

RSD Drops releases still available through eBay at the time of writing include Roger Waters’ The Wall: Live in Berlin, Gorillaz D-sides, and a special edition of classic Fleetwood Mac album, Rumours. The merchandise are sales direct from participating record store day independent stores, and also include copies from sellers which you are able to bid on.

The event is running until 4th October 2020 so get over there and see if there’s anything that tickles your fancy. Vinyl Obsession Week is only US-based this year so there may be hefty delivery costs for anyone outside the country, but hopefully, in the future, the event will extend further around the world.

Also, don’t forget the third and final RSD Drops event is taking place on 24th October 2020, so make sure you hold some money back for that!
