New Music Fridays – 22nd April 2022

April 22, 2022 by Jamie Parmenter

Mosa wild

Yo yo yo! I hope everyone is doing well on this fine Friday? We’ve gone all indie this week with four fantastic offerings to really wrap your ears around. As always, click the pics for a listen.

Mosa Wild – I Might Let You Down

Mosa Wild

With a gentle build-up against a pacy drum track, Mosa Wild’s I might Let You Down suddenly bursts to life with a guitar-driven velocity that hits you in the indie-rock gut. Perfectly balancing the ebb and flows of a powerful track, gentle synths flutter in the background to create a pleasing, dreamy passion throughout. Definitely a track to get you ready for the weekend.

Victor Mucho – Apart From You

Victor Mucho

Victor Mucho, the indie-rock project from Brian MacDonald creates a fragile beauty that only comes from years of songwriting. Combining soft drumbeats and ambient flows against warm yet delicate vocals, MacDonald creates a textured landscape that is impossible to resist. Gentle and caressing, the track slowly unfurls itself to show off the warmth and passion within. Indie-folk done correctly and with passion.

Retro Video Club – Breakup Songs

Retro Video Club

Scottish indie-rockers Retro Video Club show off their penchant for coming-of-age stories, settled beats and addictive flows on new track Breakup Songs. Guiding the listener to a hard-hitting chorus that comes from nowhere, the track delves into the story of a relationship cycle full of heartbreak, lessons and love. It’s just one of those songs you can get lost in for a few minutes and feel energised afterwards ready to take on the world.

Evi Bosman – Lose A Friend

Evi Bosman

Rotterdam-based Evi Bosman creates delightful flows and engrossing melodies on the perfectly produced, Lose a Friend. The indie-folk mentality fits Bosman’s floaty yet commanding vocals to a tee, managing to take command when needed, but settling back into the atmosphere created when necessary. A beautifully passionate sound that draws inspiration from the likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Adrienne Lenker and Laura Marling.
